In obedience to the injunction by our dear Leader that "testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important" (Manual, Art. VIII, Sect. 24), my mother and I, with hearts full of love and gratitude for Christian Science, are sending our testimonies.

I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing but, as I see now, because I thought it would make me better and give me more materially. I therefore studied it earnestly not for the truth itself but for the loaves and fishes. Of course such an erroneous thought could not remain with honest study of the Bible and our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and I am most grateful that it was corrected.

The healings I have had of colds, severe bowel trouble, scarlet fever, and headache are a few of the many proofs I have had of God's allness. A skin disease of many years' standing is rapidly disappearing as my mental home is being cleared. Last winter my sister passed on, and it was then I was so very grateful for a knowledge of God and His creation. The following experience is given, thinking it may help some mother. In my desire not to use the human will in caring for our boy, I fell into the erroneous way of thinking that I would wait until he was older and I could reason with him. In this way I was creating in him a false desire for being rocked to sleep. When I first became awake to the situation, I wondered with consternation what I should do, for I could not put him down to "cry it out," as that certainly seemed to be wrong. Then came the healing thought of our never failing comfort and guide. I opened our textbook and read, "The true sense of being and its eternal perfection should appear now, even as it will hereafter" (p. 550). After correcting my thought of child, possession, and rest, I laid him down with the thought, "His arm encircles me, and mine, and all," as Mrs. Eddy says in her poem "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4). Never since then has he had to be rocked. This taught me that if I expect obedience to Principle in our boy I must be obedient myself.

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the Sentinel, Journal, and Monitor. Although forty miles from a railroad and sixteen miles from our post office, the literature is helping me to realize that happiness does not depend on persons, place, or things. Each day brings added joy, for now I know that God is All. I am very grateful to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who revealed to us this wonderful truth.

All my existence had been darkened by an extreme terror of death and its apparent evidence. All this has been lifted. Christian Science has healed me of a very weak back, which sometimes rendered me helpless. The so-called law of heredity had to be broken in this case. My husband was healed, by a few absent treatments, of a weak heart.

Christian Science came to us twelve years ago and since then it has been our only physician. We are very thankful to Mrs. Eddy for her loving and unselfish work in providing for us our helpful literature, especially for the Lesson-Sermons, as these give us daily spiritual food during the week, and on Sundays we are not deprived of our sermon, although many miles from a church. Best of all is the assurance given us through the study of the Bible and Science and Health, that we have a kind and loving Father-Mother God, who is ever sustaining us and guiding our feet up to His throne—to the consciousness that God is All.
