When I began the study of Christian Science over four years ago, I did so for the sake of another member of the family; yet how much I needed the understanding of the truth, no one knows but myself. I had never known what it was to be well and strong, was unhappy and discouraged, and had lost all faith in physicians and drugs. I called on a practitioner to find out how to get an understanding of Christian Science, and only a few words convinced me what it means to know that God is Love. A copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was purchased, and I became deeply interested in the reading of it. I was so satisfied with the religion that I forgot myself, and without any treatment from a practitioner was healed of lung trouble, asthma, headaches, dropsy, chronic bowel disorder, and many other ills, simply through reading and understanding and prayer. The healing has been completer and permanent. Glasses were laid aside after having been worn for seven years. Not a drop of medicine has been used in our family since Science and Health was purchased; divine Love has filled our hearts and home with peace and joy.

For these healings I am grateful, but far more so for the knowledge that God is Love, that all we have and all we are comes from Him, and that all good is ours. I also wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who so unselfishly gave us the truth in her writings; also for the periodicals and the Lesson-Sermons, which provide us with daily spiritual food.

I gladly attest the truth of my wife's statements, and write my own testimony in deep thankfulness to God and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me. I was healed of sciatic rheumatism, lumbago, and many other erroneous conditions, also of a bad temper and the use of profane language. The healing seemed slow, but this led me to strive for and to gain a better understanding of God than I had ever hoped to have. At times the struggle seemed hard, but with the Bible and Science and Health as my daily guides I found that peace "which passeth all understanding."

I often think of these words in Miscellany (p. 210): "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them." The healing is now complete and I feel that God's work is perfect. Glasses that had been worn for nearly twenty years have been laid aside, through this better understanding of God. Words cannot express my thankfulness to God and my gratitude to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, but I am striving to attain that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."—Arthur H. Antoine.
