I was an invalid from birth and suffered dreadfully from organic heart disease. In my last sickness I was confined to bed for eight months, although all was done for me through material means that a loving husband and fond parents could do. We had five physicians, but at last they said I was dying, and it was published in the paper that they did not think I could last the day out. Then a friend who was a Christian Scientist came to me and said I could be healed through Christian Science treatment. I consented to try it for a week, saying that if there was no improvement I would go back to the doctors (I did not know they had said I could not live). In three days I was able to go to the dining room and eat dinner with the family. For three months I had been kept alive on malted food and had slept two hours out of the twenty-four under the influence of an opiate, but the Christ, Truth, the spirit of Life and Love, opened the prison doors and set me free.

That was twenty years ago; today I am a strong, well woman, absolutely healed through Christian Science, and able to demonstrate for myself and others this blessed truth. I am deeply grateful for what Christian Science has done for me; and whether in sunshine or in shadow I will have no fear, for God is able to guide me safely into the harbor where the storms of life's raging sea cannot harm me. I thank God that this wonderful truth has come into my life, and am so glad I am living in this age when it was given to the world by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
