It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of the numerous benefits that have accrued to me and mine since gaining an understanding of the healing truth as revealed in Christian Science. The first awakening came some eight years ago, at a time when there seemed nothing left to do but endure as best I could the sickness, inharmony, unhappiness, and trouble which apparently engulfed me.

Although in a wretched state of health myself, still it was for our little girl that Christian Science treatment was first tried. At this time she was a baby less than two years of age and suffering from a serious bowel difficulty. After exhausting every other means of help, we decided to try Christian Science, although we had no faith in it; in fact I was ashamed of what I thought it to be, but I am happy to say that it proved to be so entirely different from my conception that I was deeply grateful for being led to investigate it.

Since then our little family have in an ever increasing measure relied upon Christian Science to meet all our needs, and we have not found it wanting. In addition to the ailment already referred to this same child has been healed of measles, croup, small-pox, numerous minor ills. All of this, however, is not so wonderful as the transformation that has taken place in her disposition. As for myself I have been changed from an emaciated woman with scarcely a sound organ in my body to one of robust health. I am perforce grateful for these physical benefits, but rejoice more in the spiritual uplift that has come to me, and for the consciousness of the ever-presence and omnipotence of divine Love, God, who is ever ready to guide our feet in paths of peace and loving-kindness.

Previous to taking up the study of Christian Science I had never known of a religion that satisfied the reason. Although in the first efforts to comprehend Christian Science there was found a great deal which did not coincide with earlier training and instruction, nevertheless it was discerned that the logic was correct, therefore the former beliefs could not be true. In this way many false conceptions have been replaced by a demonstrable knowledge of the real and true status of man.

I am thankful to God that I am learning how to exchange disagreeable experiences for heavenly ones, also grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that she through self-denial, purity, and spiritual discernment has shown us how to make the exchange.—Manie Dona Scoffern, Kansas City, Mo.
