In the spring of 1913 my brother was suddenly taken ill. As he is on his one year of military service, we had to call a physician, who pronounced it a case of typhoid fever. Despite the fact that Christian Science is as yet very little known here in Budapest, my mother asked a Christian Science practitioner in Dresden to give him treatment. The physicians predicted high fever, delirium, etc., but none of these conditions were manifested; on the contrary, my brother recovered quickly, and the physicians said, that although we had a patient with typhoid fever in our home, we really did not know what it meant.

On another occasion my mother returned from a journey suffering from a severe fever. As she did not seem to improve, I wired to the practitioner who had treated my brother, and on the next day the fever was broken, and my mother was completely restored within a short time. These are instances only of physical healing; as to our experiences along mental and spiritual lines, words fail to convey our sense of indebtedness. My wish is that all who are weighed down with sorrow and suffering may find that the Christ-way is the only way which leads to true happiness and peace.
