I wish to make an acknowledgment of my healing, now...
I wish to make an acknowledgment of my healing, now almost ten years ago, of chronic stomach and intestinal trouble followed by a nervous breakdown. This condition had been predicted by physicians as the consequence of literal starvation for many years.
When a physical and mental wreck, I turned to Christian Science and asked for help, which was graciously given me. I was completely cured, and can eat anything set before me. Since then I have witnessed and experienced many healings in Christian Science, the most remarkable being that of a fractured elbow, with no other help than the study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
One day in August, 1910, while stretching a rope over my head it broke, and I was thrown from a platform on which I was standing, falling on my arm. When I arose to my feet the arm hung from the shoulder, useless. The first day I put my arm in a sling, but I seemed to see what Paul describes as "another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind," so I took the bandage off, and by the night of the second day, which was Wednesday, I could raise it considerably. In two weeks I carried food to my mouth, and in three, when I testified for very joy and gratitude in our church, I raised the arm above my head in proof of my healing. The arm is now in every way as normal as the other.
In tribute to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who, like one of old, said, "Come and see," let me add that a just and true appreciation of her and of her work has been to me a great help and joy. Having first accepted Christian Science as the truth taught by Christ Jesus, she took her rightful place in my thought as Leader, teacher, guide, and friend, the messenger of Truth to this age.
