Prompted by divine Love, and with a heart full of gratitude for all that Christian Science has brought to me, I write this testimony, trusting it may help some one as others' testimonies have helped me. For over four years I suffered with severe organic difficulties and was under the care of physicians a good part of that time. The diagnoses of two physicians were alike very alarming, and that of a third, while similar to that of the first two, was even more so. Their treatment relieved, but could not cure me. I went through long sieges of dieting and lived strictly within certain rules as outlined by materia medica, with practically no result.

Christian Science came to my attention through some friends, any my wife and I went with them to their church, where were gathered the most cheerful and happy people we had ever seen, and we listened to some wonderful testimonies of healing, and later talked with some of those who had given the testimonies. In a few days I consulted a practitioner, and he asked me if I was willing to give up material methods it he gave me treatment in Christian Science. I answered in the affirmative, although at that time it seemed to me I could not live without medicine, as some of the so-called vital organs of my body would not perform the functions required of them without material aid, and even then very poorly. He gave me a treatment, and I went home and threw away all the medicines. I was greatly relieved from the first, so continued to take treatment daily, and in a few days all symptoms of the so-called organic troubles had entirely disappeared.

I took a few more treatments for my eyes, which had been left in a weakened condition from several attacks of snow-blindness in Alaska a few years ago. They had been treated by a well known oculist, and I wore glasses made under his prescription, also by some eye specialists, but I was only able to read an hour or two at most and then would suffer with severe headaches and inflamed eyes. Since coming into Christian Science, however, I have discarded the glasses altogether, and for over five months I have been reading and writing nearly every night until twelve o'clock, and often later, but have never had a headache or any trouble with my eyes whatever. I have not taken any medicine, or resorted to dieting or any form of medical treatment, since I took the first treatment in Christian Science, and I am now much stouter, healthier, and happier than ever before in my life.

But that is not all! The spiritual uplifting one receives through Christian Science is greater than the physical healing, although this may seem hard to believe by those who are sick and suffering. By making a study of this Science, for Science it surely is, both my wife and I have arrived at a consciousness of the allness of God, good. We find that every thought must be a thought of love. Mrs. Eddy says on page 183 of Science and Health, "Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength." It is a straight and narrow path, but it is divinely beautiful. Last but not least, I wish to say that when my wife and I first came into Christian Science, we thought there was too much tribute given to Mrs. Eddy, but that thought soon vanished. Our own hearts are today full of gratitude for her life, and for Christian Science. Now we see her as the "Moses" of this epoch, leading men out of the "wilderness" of mortal illusion, out of sin, sickness, and inharmony, into the "promised land" of virtue, health, and happiness.
