I am very grateful for the many blessings which have come to me through the understanding of Christian Science. The words of our beloved Leader, "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble'" (Science and Health, p. 444), are in line with my experience. I was healed of what physicians call an incurable disease, with two treatments. The practitioner told me to get a copy of Science and Health and read and study it. I did so, and have been gaining an understanding ever since, being able to demonstrate the truth for myself and also for others. The physical healing was much, but the spiritual awakening is far more! The joy of living each day as best I know, and of helping others, is indeed the "pearl of great price."

My gratitude to our dear Leader cannot be set forth in words, but she is graciously pointing us to a method by which we can express our thankfulness in pure thinking and compassionate living.

Mrs. Minerva Boyd, Weeping Water, Neb.

The following Latin inscription, dating back to the year 1598, may still be seen above a drug-store (the "Raths-Apotheke") in Lueneburg, near Hannover, Germany:

"Neque herba neque malagma sanavit eos, sed tuss, Domine, sermo, qui sanat omnia."

Translation: "Neither herbs nor poultices have healed them, but Thy word, O God, which heals everything."
