The privilege of adding my testimony to the many which are appearing in the Sentinel and Journal, is a great pleasure to me. The healing from bodily ailments which I have experienced has been accomplished through an understanding of God as the giver of good and only good. Reflecting Him, perfect being, we are sinless and perfect. In understanding this, I saw that it was mine to bring out perfection, being governed by the Christ-mind.

When I first took up the study of Christian Science, it was not for physical benefits, but for relief from financial trouble and from its attendants, worry and fear, depression and mental unrest. In attending a lecture on Christian Science, it seemed that every word was meant for me, that the ideal, "Thy kingdom come on earth," was possible. On returning to my room that evening, I tried to realize that what I had been seeking after was only the unreal, temporal pleasure and success, and that very hour every thought seemed to change, and I knew that it was possible to experience the truth that divine Love can supply our every need. I resolved to test it then, and from that moment the smoking and liquor habits were given up, though up to that time both of them were very pronounced.

The most wonderful opening, however, came the next day, when I received an offer of a good position in a small town, where I could make new friends. These naturally were Scientists, and the year of work in association with them and in the study of the Bible in the light of Science and Health, brought a great awakening and great benefit. The problem of supply was met, and on the basis of spiritual apprehension. This gain resulted from an earnest study of Science and Health and the other Christian Science publications. My work, while not what I liked, was made harmonious and pleasant and I knew that I had to outgrow present environment in thought before I could be fitted for a better position. Later I applied for class instruction, and at the same time received a splendid offer from a large business firm which I was very anxious to accept. The problem was to me a serious one, but in asking my teacher what to do, I was told that the problem was my own. She said, "If you desire Truth above all else, the way will open." This proved to be true, for the day the lessons were completed, a position was offered me, one I had never dreamed of, with Scientists, and with better financial possibilities than before.

In coming to a decision I knew that God was all intelligence and man His reflection, and while the work was entirely new and much of it difficult, every advancing step was made possible as I applied my understanding of Christian Science to my work. While there are problems each day, each is being overcome by applying practically the Master's statement, "Lo, I am with you alway," and in this ever-presence of Christ, Truth, the human will must yield to the divine. My appreciation of Mrs. Eddy's life-work can only be expressed in trying to put into practice the divine Principle of Christian Science.
