AMONG THE CHURCHES

At a recent meeting of the members of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, it was decided to build a handsome new edifice on the lot recently acquired at the southwest corner of Mount Royal avenue and St. Paul street. Plans for the building have been prepared, and the work of construction will begin immediately. The design is for an attractive building in the form of a Greek cross, with a seating capacity of twelve hundred, including the galleries, and a Sunday School room seating four hundred and fifty. The lot is one hundred feet square, and the building will be ninety-six feet square.—Sun.

The Christian Science society will erect handsome quarters on Pandora avenue. Plans have been prepared for a building to cost between four and five thousand dollars, and the contract has been let. The new building, which will have a frontage of forty feet on Pandora avenue and be seventy-five feet in depth, will be two stories in height in the front position, while the main hall will be one story in height, sixteen feet from floor to ceiling. The building will be of silica brick veneer on concrete foundation. The auditorium will be paneled with native fir, with beam ceiling, and will seat between three and four hundred. Work on the erection of the new building will commence at once and be rushed to completion.—Daily Colonist.
