More than one million acres of the Uintah reservation in northwestern Utah are to be opened to location on and after August 28.

The Federal Court of Cassation, Venezuela, has given final judgment in the matter of the proceedings instituted against the French Cable Company, confirming the dissolution of the contract of the Government with that company. On March 31 last, President Arnal of the highest court decided that the French Cable Company had forfeited its contract by failure to fulfil its terms. The present decision was rendered by the full court.
