Christian Science has been the means of bringing into my experience so much joy, harmony, and peace, and has so enlarged and brightened my mental outlook, that I have reason to be very grateful for its many blessings. I grew up under the materia medica thought,—my father being a physician, and I was considered not very strong. I was seldom free from a sense of debility and languor, very susceptible to taking colds, which would usually develop into severe coughs, and having a nervous, unhappy temperament, I never enjoyed thoroughly good health.

Since accepting Christian Science and depending on it as the remedy for all ills, my health has greatly improved, and I have found the true happiness, which the world can neither give nor take away. Many fears have taken flight, and doubt has been dispelled through an understanding of God's unchanging goodness and ever-presence as revealed in Christian Science. Gradually the colds became less frequent and severe, and they have not troubled me for a long time. Unhappiness, discontent, irritability, anxiety have given place to joy, harmony, and spiritual understanding. Now I seldom feel tired; I can take long walks and enjoy outdoor exercise without fatigue. Above all, I have found a satisfying, joy-giving religion which is a practical help in every way, and gives a "priceless sense of the dear Father's loving-kindness" (Science and Health, p. 366). I have been able to prove that Christian Science relieves physical suffering and overcomes fear; and through its beautiful teachings I have gained a deeper love for the Bible. In the light of Christian Science its promises are found to bear a new and vital import so that they become of immediate and practical value.

For many years I was troubled with attacks of lumbago and sciatica, and was for nine months almost an invalid. About a year ago I had a violent attack that kept me bedfast for three weeks. My physician claimed it was due to the breaking down of my nervous system, which was about to collapse from the strain of thirty-two years of hard work over the dental chair. He insisted that a sea voyage was the only thing that would give me relief. I had previously tried every remedy suggested, including medicine, blisters, foot pad absorption, and all kinds of baths, without any lasting benefit. I was only able to get around with the greatest difficulty, and was in agony sitting or standing.

In sheer desperation, I was induced by my wife, who had just received wonderful help from Christian Science treatment, to try the same. To my intense satisfaction I soon got relief and was entirely healed, incredible as it may seem, in three weeks.

I am now enjoying excellent health, working harder, if possible, than ever, and never was so contented and happy in my life. I know Christian Science heals!
