With a feeling of profound gratitude to divine Love who has led me to find the way of truth or Christian Science, I wish to relate some of the experiences which my dear family and I have had in Christian Science.
If I cast a glance into the past, it all seems like a chaotic dream. Sickness was our constant companion. My father suffered for years with stomach trouble and other diseases which manifested themselves, causing discord in our otherwise happy family life. It is impossible for me to name the amount of money which we spent for medicines without receiving any benefit therefrom. I myself had heart disease and therefore needed great care. Besides this I suffered at times great pain in my right foot which I had sprained when I was ten years of age.
We first heard of Christian Science through a friend of my mother, who spoke very convincingly of the healing power of Truth which had freed her from a severe liver and bladder disease.
We at first attended the meetings and then my father took treatment. I shall never forget the day when, moaning with pain and leaning upon my sister's arm, I entered the practitioner's room. After the treatment the pain had almost entirely disappeared, I walked home, and after several weeks' treatment was entirely healed. Shortly after that, my father was also healed. My mother was healed of a severe cough which troubled her every winter, and my sister was healed of rheumatism.
It is now a little over two years since we came to Science, and I can say that during this time I have used no material remedies and have enjoyed perfect health. Many beautiful demonstrations have brought me nearer to God. A life without Christian Science is now impossible to me. For this pure, beautiful teaching we express our unending gratitude to Mrs. Eddy and give the glory to God.
For the last proof of our ever-providing divine Love, expressed in the last number of our Herold, which contains the Bible Lessons in German, I here express my sincere gratitude.—Frieda Carl, Berlin, Germany.
