Nine years ago last spring my daughter was healed

Nine years ago last spring my daughter was healed. The doctors had given me little hope that she would ever be healthy, if she lived. I will not picture disease to the reader, but no one knows the torture of those eighteen years of sleepless nights and weary days, watching over my darling one. My daily prayer was, "God, spare my child to me." All that loving care and gentle nursing could do was done. Still the doctors shook their heads. It was so pitiful to see her fade day by day; and then, being an invalid, it was torture to me. When my dear child was where earthly help was of no avail, I heard of a practitioner who had done good work. I sent for her and she came like an angel of light. The shadow was lifted. In one week my darling could walk, and in a few months she was healed. To-day she is the picture of health, and she now weighs one hundred and sixty-five pounds. Before her healing she was a mere skeleton. She is a living witness of what Christian Science has done, and is its loyal supporter.

I thank God that through the light of Christian Science we know that we are His children, made in His likeness, and filled with His love. I feel that the debt we owe Mrs. Eddy and our faithful healer is great, but God said, "Let there be light: and there was light."

Mrs. Belle M. Walker, Eastendale, Mass.

When I first heard of Christian Science I condemned it, as I thought, very severely, but I know now, and am glad to confess, that it was my own malicious opinions that I condemned, and not Science.

When I decided to take up the study of Christian Science, it was not for physical benefits, although many discords have been met and overcome. I was seeking a higher and truer sense of Life. I need not add that my desire has been fulfilled, for those who seek shall find.

It is useless to attempt to express my gratitude for Christian Science, for it is more than human tongue can voice; and the true way to prove ourselves faithful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is to love, not "in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."

Willingly I gave up the old for the new, and with "Gladness to leave the dark landmarks, and joy to see them disappear" (Science and Health, p. 324).

I have not the pleasure or the opportunity of attending church services, but with Science and Health, and the Journals and Sentinels, I am better satisfied with life than ever before.

"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."—Hallie Lewis, Blue Creek, O.
