My husband and I came to California last September intending to settle here in business. Owing to his ill health we could not remain East; his trouble was chronic inflammation of the bladder with which he had been afflicted for fifteen years; he was also subject to attacks of hemorrhage which seemed to result from chills.

We arrived in San Franciso on a cold, windy day and the dreaded chill was contracted. The usual remedies failed to bring relief, and he refused father medical aid. At this time we were advised to try Christian Science; so without any understanding of what it meant and with little faith in it. he commenced the treatment.

Very gradually the improvement came; we discarded all drugs and remedies and bought and studied Science and Health. At the end of one week I concluded that if there was anything in Christian Science I could heal myself of constipation from which I had always suffered, and I was entirely relieved in five days. After seven weeks treatment my husband was well and we could help ourselves. In January, we went through a Christian Science class and since that time have been able to help others.

I write this in the beginning of March, 1903, on the eve of our return East to live. My husband is perfectly recovered, and all fear of climate or cold has left us. Our stay of five months in San Francisco has been fraught with many blessings to us, and we are proud to call ourselves Christian Scientists and grateful to all those who have helped us to the understanding of this great truth.
