My consciousness is so filled with love and gratitude to...

My consciousness is so filled with love and gratitude to God for the many blessings Christian Science is giving me daily, that I am glad to avail myself of the privilege of sending to our Publishing Society a testimony of benefits received, knowing it will help some searcher for Truth.

For about eight years I suffered greatly with my eyes, and went to several of the best oculists in a number of cities. They never seemed to agree as to the nature of the disease. Tumors formed on the lids, inside and out, which necessitated several operations.

I was in constant pain, and finally the time came when I could only use my eyes a few moments at a time, with specially ground glasses for reading and sewing, and others for the street; but these afforded no relief.

The last oculist to whom I went suggested another operation, but said it offered no hope of healing, only relief, and it might result in leaving me "cross-eyed."

Beside the eye trouble I was a chronic invalid, not being able to sit up very long at a time and I could do no walking. The mental condition was also very pitiful, and it was at this time I began Christian Science treatment, knowing little about it and having no special faith.

For the benefit of those to whom temptation has come to be discouraged. I desire to say my healing was very slow. I simply came for "ease in matter" and had I received this, would have been satisfied, hence I am very grateful for the slow healing, as I was thus awakened to the truth that "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Science and Health states on page 296 that "Progress is born of experience. . . . The old man, with his deeds, must be put off. Nothing sensual or sinful is immortal."

I have had so many demonstrations for myself and others, of the truth contained in the above statement, I can never express in words my gratitude, and my hourly prayer is that my life shall testify for me.

For Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I have a deep sense of gratitude, and love. For our helpful periodicals I thank our Publishing Society many, many times. When the pathway has seemed very dark and dreary, they have arrived and pointed out that "the sunlight of Truth" (Science and Health, p. 162) was still shining, and I need only turn to it to see my way clearly.

The revised Science and Health is simply a revelation to me, and I find the Concordance fills all requirements when I have turned to it to assist me in my work.
