Some three years and a half ago my attention was called to Christian Science and its healing. Although at first I ignored it, I soon became satisfied that there was some thing in it, although what it was I could not understand. I then began the reading of Science and Health by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and had the privilege of going through a class in 1899.
I had always suffered from ill health, being extremely nervous. I was a member of several clubs, and therefore located where many in the world are to-day looking for happiness in material things. Soon after beginning to read Science and Health my surroundings began to change, my physical condition improved, and many erroneous beliefs which I considered essentials disappeared.
Through further understanding of Principle, I have been enabled to give up my belief in other illusions, and to-day I am well and better equipped to do God's work in His way than I have ever been. For all this I am truly thankful.
I have had several trying experiences during the past three years, and have had occasions of seeming darkness, but I knew the light was there and soon have seen it again.
As I look back over the past few years I realize more than ever the necessity on the part of all Christian Scientists for patience with those whose spiritual growth is slow, and at times seems to cease entirely. I realize that my growth was benefited by the kindness and love of those whom I met in Christian Science.
I appreciate more than ever the valuable work of the Bible Lesson committee, the Publication committees, and above all the sterling integrity of our Leader and her faithful interpretation of Life, Truth, and Love.
In my business office I keep the Christian Science literature for distribution, and have an opportunity of presenting the truth to many in the course of a week. I trust that I may see my way clear in the near future to help the Cause more than I am doing at present.
