Proofs of God's Power

Naturally the advanced Christian Scientist knows that the healing of disease is incidental, but the hungering hordes of suffering humanity are still seeking a sign, some reason for a hope beginning to dawn anew for them. So while it may be sweeter to forget our own and others' past sufferings in a present freedom, it is also necessary to tell of cases of healing; and even though those who mistake one's motives, may accuse one of self aggrandizement, one must not thereby be turned from the discharge of so sacred a duty.

Remembering this, I am led to overcome a foolish sense of diffidence with the thought that God alone does the healing (we are but the humble channel), and offer the following fruits which have blessed my efforts in the past two years.

A victim of the morphine habit of fifteen years' standing, was not only healed, but spiritually uplifted as these extracts from letters will show: "I am happy to say that I feel like a new man. My heart is full of gratitude to God for this deliverance. No one except those who have been afflicted as I was, can explain the terrible feeling of a person in such bondage. I suffered extreme weakness and many other unpleasant symptoms according to mortal sense. but now I can see the nothingness of it all. I feel greatly strengthened spiritually also, and I intend to live a better life. I think now I can stand alone by reading Science and Health....
