A Little Child's Faith

Elspeth is a little Christian Science girl, and she has a baby sister named Carolyn, to whom she teaches the first words of Truth, often telling her, when she falls and starts to cry, that she is God's child and error cannot hurt her.

Elspeth is just a little over three years old, but as she always tells her friends, she is really "as old as Truth;” and she has had many lovely demonstrations since her papa and mamma studied Christian Science a year ago.

She denies all error when it seems to talk to her through burns and bumps, and once when her mamma was trying hard to overcome a severe attack of toothache, which did not seem to yield, Elspeth put her arms around her mamma and said, "Why, mamma, don't you know that God is Love, and error cannot talk to you, for you are God's perfect spiritual idea? Now, just say, 'All right,' and you will be all well, for God will not let anything hurt you."

That lovely child-thought seemed to clear away the mist, and Elspeth's mamma knew at once that God was Love, and little Elspeth's demonstration had brought the Truth home as an ever-present help and the "jumping toothache" left instantly.—M. Q., Buffalo, N. Y.
