Crutch laid Aside

It is my privilege and pleasure to relate a wonderful case of healing in Troy, N. Y., which recently came to my knowledge.

My daily avocation brings me in contact with persons of almost every disposition and temperament, and I find golden opportunities for dropping the precious seeds of Truth.

A short time ago I met a young woman who had just passed through a very trying ordeal. Owing to the use of surgical that she was injured and crippled so badly that she was unable to walk without a crutch. I passed an hour with her in conversation, discoursing upon the merits of the Christ cure as demonstrated in Christian Science, and upon leaving her home gave her an invitation to attend the testimonial meeting at the chapel that evening, which was gladly accepted.

Another friend placed a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" in her hands, and she began to read, to study, and to think. The following Wednesday evening she again visited the chapel, accompanied by her husband, more deeply interested than before. The third week found her at the meeting, and the fourth week she came, but not leaning upon her crutch, as she had no need of the artificial support to enable her to walk.

The law had been made for her that it would be a long time before she would walk without her crutch; but the power of the word, attending the meetings, and the study of the text-book of Christian Science had healed her in this short interval. She continues to gain in strength day by day.

She is willing to give to God all the glory of her healing, and rejoices in the knowledge of Truth, which she is daily demonstrating to be something more effectual to lean upon than a wooden crutch.
