I must express my deep felt gratitude for having been led to Christian Science. Born in Belgium, I came to the United States in 1940 at the time the lowlands were invaded during World War II. As a child I had often dreamed of coming to America, but little did I realize I would really do so and eventually find this precious Christ, Truth, which was to save my home and my marriage and heal many other aspects of my human situation.

About fourteen years ago my husband began having severe attacks of mental illness. In a state of great fear and anguish, unable to cope with this, and no longer in control of his thoughts, he committed himself to a state hospital for the mentally ill. I was left with a seemingly dark and hopeless situation. I had a small child, considerable indebtedness, no position, and no one to help me.

It was at this point that I turned to Christian Science with my whole heart. I asked for help from a practitioner, who at one time had healed our little daughter in one treatment of a rash that had covered various parts of her body. With the constant prayerful treatment this practitioner gave me over a long period, the healing in our home gradually took place.

I found remunerative work as a waitress, from which position I have steadily progressed to one of responsibility as a secretary. Little by little all our debts were paid, and my child began a school career which has carried her through to high school graduation as valedictorian. Scholarships have taken care of our daughter's education in a fine private school. During the entire time she has attended the Christian Science Sunday School. She is now in her second year of college and is maintaining a high standard of scholarship.

After much patience, and overcoming many trials by degrees, together with the devoted prayerful help of practitioners, my husband has been healed and given his complete release by the doctors. He now contributes to the home financially and has a gentle, thoughtful character that is abounding in gratitude.

All three of us are members of The Mother Church. My husband and I are members of a branch church and have recently received class instruction, which has been a joyous, sacred experience.

Now our prayer is to serve God according to His plan, serve the Cause of Christian Science, and share our blessings with others. Indeed, "with God all things are possible" (Mark 10:27 ). In our family the regenerative power of divine Love, illustrated in Christ Jesus' healing ministry and in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, has once again been demonstrated.

I am the husband in this testimony. The events are true and occurred as described. It is Christian Science alone that brought about my complete healing and the regeneration in our home.

I am deeply grateful for Mother Church membership and particularly for branch church activity.
