Christian Science nursing's tender care

Live audio chat with Linda Kohler, Christian Science nurse

If you've ever wondered about what a Christian Science nurse is or does, this is the chat for you. Linda not only explains the Christian Science nurse’s role in nurturing and supporting a patient's healing; she also clarifies the relationship between Christian Science nurses and Christian Science practitioners and addresses other questions from site visitors such as how to become a Christian Science nurse; how a medical nurse can make the transition to Christian Science nursing; and how to apply our individual capacity for nursing/nurturing others in our churches and our interactions with others.

She says that we all love and care for others every day, in simple ways, but that Christian Science nurses must be especially prepared to minister to the sick with skill and tenderness. All this loving actually has its source in God. She explains, “It's really important to connect all this care back to God. . . . We don't manufacture this love; you could say that we reflect it. We let God’s love shine through our hearts and our deeds. . . . The more we give God the credit or the glory, . . the more tender and wise and practical that care is going to be.”
