Sustenance from Psalm 18

It was a Christian Science practitioner who introduced me to Psalm 18.

I was visiting my family on the West Coast. Early one morning I went out with a backpack full of gear. On the way down the steps I slipped and landed on my right ankle after my foot had turned inward. I was immediately in pain.

Quietly I crawled back up the steps to the bedroom I had been sleeping in. I had a copy of Psalms 23 and 91 from the Bible and some quotes from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy with me. I prayed for myself, affirming that I was a spiritual idea of God, and, as a spiritual idea, I was intact and included no material conditions, no pain or injury.
