Puppy healed

About five years ago, when our teacup Yorkie was just a puppy, we had a trip scheduled. He had arrived in our home only a few weeks earlier, and had not been feeling well. As I prayed for our pet, I was inspired to turn to the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy.

Over the years, I have grown to see the importance of the Church Manual in helping me practice Christian Science. The Manual is a book of Rules and By-Laws, showing us the purity of organization when governed by divine Love, heavenly guidance, and demonstrable Christian Science. In my own life, I have found inspiration and guidance applicable to family, business, relationship, and even health issues. Yes, it is a small, thin book, but it’s such an important one, a support along with the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mrs. Eddy. Quite the powerhouse!

The cover of the Manual, like all of Mrs. Eddy’s writings, has the beautiful inspirational seal of the Cross and Crown and the words, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons” (Matthew 10:8, Revised Version). This message of Christ Jesus is a call to all of us to strive to do the healing work he promised his followers could do, and to find the kingdom of heaven within us.
