The gift of forgiveness

The Book of Forgiving
by Desmond Tutu and Mpho Tutu
HarperOne, 2014

Few people are better equipped to write about forgiveness than Nobel Peace laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who chaired the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa between 1995 and 2002.

His latest offering, The Book of Forgiving, is his second collaboration with his daughter Mpho, also an ordained minister, who is pursuing a doctorate on the “sweet balm” of forgiveness at Vrije University in Amsterdam. They last worked together on the book Made for Goodness (see “ ‘We are made for goodness,’Sentinel, May 31, 2010).
