During a late afternoon last December, in the serenity of a wood near where I live, I was absorbed by the changing light. I thought of Mary Baker Eddy’s definition of sun as “the symbol of Soul governing man …” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 595). As I watched the sun go down, it came to me that what we see as the sun’s rising and setting each day can represent the harmonious order of a spiritual cosmos governed by divine Soul. As I took this photograph, I felt a warm glow from this radiance.
