Letters

Messages in the “Mountaintop prayers” Sentinel (Aug. 15) were just what I yearned for at the end of a week of particularly woeful economic news. At so-called “retirement age,” I face both a downturn in funds and in a longtime business I’m compelled to sustain, grateful as I am for its many years of rewards.

But, as a hiker in local mountains, the metaphysical metaphors related so beautifully in the articles were hugely inspiring. Those included “Taking in the Whole View” [Robin Hoagland] and “Notes from a Hiker’s Journal” [Chet Manchester]. The experiences and lessons inspired a higher, wider view where Mind governs and Love leads, banishing gloom and opening one’s mental door to healing and freedom. Thank you for that issue, and for all of them!
