Thank you, Mr. D.

Near the end of my third-grade year, we got a new lunch supervisor, He was very strict. Some of the kids were scared of him.

I was a little scared, too. But then I thought about how he might be feeling. Maybe he was scared, too, because of having a new job at a new school.

I started to think about God. I remembered His love for us. That made me feel safe. So I decided that I could say something nice to the supervisor to make him feel welcomed. The next time I saw him, I said, "Thank you for being our lunch supervisor!"

He smiled and said, "You're welcome." And I really think he felt better, because he was kinder. And lunchtime was fun again.
