How I got into spiritual healing

NUMBER OF YEARS AGO, I was working in a job I loved. It had purpose, and I didn't think I could ever find anything as fulfilling. But then the company was downsized and I was laid off, and I was devastated. "What else in life do I have to do?" I asked.

I looked for work and didn't find anything but rejection. Since we had wanted to move our family to Missouri, I continued the job search there. I began to feel in many ways that I was left out of God's plan. I was discouraged and started to devalue myself. Even with a loving wife and family, I still felt unloved.

Finally, after two years I got a job in sales. Because it was not exactly what I wanted, I was constantly casting my eye back, behind me, to what had been. I had no experience in sales, and I don't know that I would have even accepted the job, except for the fact that the owners were a sweet couple who worked closely with me.
