WELCOME

LETTER TO OUR READERS

I'd love to meet each one of you in person and give you a warm welcome to our 2002 teen issue. You're the reason this annual teen issue of The Herald of Christian Science was started four years ago, and you're the reason it continues today so successfully.

If you're a new reader, you may have noticed by now that, in many ways, this isn't your typical teen magazine. Yes, it's got a cool design with lots of photos, and other sections on sports, beauty and music. But it's a truly unique teen publication, because it has a spiritual, yet practical, viewpoint on everyday issues.

Continue reading, and you'll find out how our young writers and contributors from around the world have gotten beyond obstacles in their personal lives and in their communities — through prayer and total faith in God. Suicides prevented. Diseases healed. A talent discovered. They are proving with their lives that God is good, that He loves each of us beyond what we know, and that His will for us is happiness, success, and health.

It's at the same time humbling and awesome to hear that the ideas in this magazine reach so many parts of the globe. In fact, these teen issues are published in five languages — English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

Thanks to all of you who e-mailed us at teens@csps.com, or dropped us a letter with a comment, question, or article.

We value each of you. Wherever you happen to be reading this issue—in a cafe in France, or at home in Brazil, Germany, Uruguay, or the US—we hope you'll find that it speaks to your heart, and gives you encouragement, comfort, and friend-to-friend love.
