HOW GOD HELPED US!
God healed me
Last year when I was still in kindergarten, I came home from school one Saturday feeling very sick. My head hurt and I had a fever.
My mama read to me from the Bible and Science and Health. She also read a story for kids from the Bentara [Indonesian Herald]. These helped me.
In Sunday School, my teacher says that God is everywhere, and that God gives only good. So, I knew that God made me perfect.
When my head hurt badly, I cried and asked, "Mama, why am I so sick?"
Mama said: "Sickness is not from God. So it really should not be here."
Then I prayed. And when the fever was very high, I started to sweat, and the fever became less. I fell asleep.
In the afternoon, when I woke up, my head did not hurt anymore.
But the fever came back.
Mama said: "Don't be afraid, because sickness has no power. Don't complain, but be grateful instead that God is your Father."
I left my room. I was playing with my little brother, Martin, when I realized I was healed.
The next day was Sunday, and I went to Sunday School. Thank you, God. You healed me.

No more toothache
My name is Raymore, and I am six years old. I live in the Philippines.
One night my tooth was aching. I was crying and went to my Mom. She cuddled me and whispered that God loved me. She told me that God did not make me to suffer any pain. My mother kept on saying to me that God loved me very much.
After a few minutes I felt better, and I didn't need to take any medicine. In the morning I didn't have any more toothache. I was able to go to school.

Making friends
One day at the daycare center, I found two shovels in the sand — a big one and a little one. I didn't know that the shovels belonged to a boy from my grade. His name was Robert. Nobody was playing with them, so I began to dig in the sand with them.
Then Robert came running toward me. He pulled the shovels out of my hand and ran away. I asked the teachers to help me, but they said, "No, you have to work that out yourself." Robert had hurt me, and I thought everybody was mean because they didn't want to help me.
Then I ran inside. I was crying. I looked in my school bag and got out my booklet called "The Ten Commandments." I read the Ninth Commandment, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour" (Ex. 20:16). It made me feel happy. I understood that I should love my neighbor. And Robert was my neighbor. I made friends with him again.
Another time I was sitting all alone on a jungle gym, and nobody wanted to play with me. A girl from my class named Gizem and some other girls were playing together. I went over to them and asked if I could play with them. But they said, "No."
I went back to the jungle gym and prayed. Everyone is perfect, I thought, and nobody can be alone, because God loves all of us. Then Gizem came over to me and asked if I would play with her. And I said, "Yes." I was very happy about that.
It is so good that Christian Science has come into the world and that Mary Baker Eddy wrote the book Science and Health. I like it very much. It says that we are made to be like God's love. It says we are "the image of Love" (see p. 475 ).

A camping trip
My name is Brady, and I live in Australia. We are in the southern hemisphere, and Christmas is in the summer. Last Christmas my family went camping on Fraser Island. It's the biggest island that's made out of only sand. There are huge dunes. Even the roads are made of sand.
Every day we had fun swimming in the ocean and playing on the dunes. My brother and I spent hours running up the hill of sand and sliding down. The days were sunny and hot.
One evening, I wasn't feeling well. My head was aching, I felt very hot. I just wanted to lie down and go to sleep, mother told me to feel how God loved me.
The next morning I felt a bit better, but still not well enough to play. So I sat with my mother, and she read the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly to me. One verse from the Bible that was in the Lesson said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32 ).
Mum and I talked about what was true about me — that God made me. We knew that it was true that God made me to be like Him. God is perfect, so I am perfect, too. I am completely well, just like He is. We also knew it was true that God would not let me be sick or in pain.
By that afternoon I was feeling good. I was able to swim and play on the sand dunes again.
The next day I got a large shell from the ocean — the biggest I've ever seen. Here is a picture of me, my dog, and my big shell from Fraser Island.

Safe in God's care
When I was in grade one at primary school, I visited a friend at her house. I was riding her bicycle. We were allowed to ride out on the road because she lived on a very quiet street. I had no shoes on my feet. I fell off her bike and badly cut my toe.
My friend's mother helped me to clean and cover up my toe. At first I was upset, and so was she. Then I remembered my favorite Bible verse: "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Ps. 91:1 ). This made me think of how I am always safe with God. I like being safe in God's care.
After I prayed like this, I started feeling better. My friend's mother was still upset about my toe. I told her that I was all right now. Then I stopped thinking about my toe and had a fun time playing with my friend.
When my Mum came to pick me up, my friend's mother was very concerned about the accident. Mum and I thanked her for taking care of me. On the way home in the car, I told Mum how I had prayed, and how praying had helped me to feel God with me.
We kept praying, and soon my toe was completely healed. This healing was very special to me. I learned that, even while I'm away from my family, I can turn to God and pray for myself.
Name removed by requestNot scared
When I was four, I was learning to swim. God helped me. When I was in the pool, I was scared to let go of Mommy and just hold the floater.
But then I got a good thought from God. I said, "Peace, be still." And I wasn't scared anymore, right that minute. I let go of Mommy and swam with the floater.
"Peace, be still" comes from the Bible (Mark 4:39 ). One time, Jesus was in a boat with his disciples. He was asleep. Then a storm came up, and the disciples saw that the boat was tipping over. They were scared. They went down into the boat to wake up Jesus and tell him that the boat was tipping. Jesus went up and said, "Peace, be still." The storm stopped. And that was the end of it.
I learned from this story that I didn't need to be scared, because God is always holding me in His arms.
