real beauty

People worry about whether they're too fat or thin, whether their clothes fit well ... but being thin is not necessarily where real beauty comes from. We are all beautiful in our own way.

People might seem pretty or handsome at first sight, but after you talk with them they may not seem so attractive. Maybe they even seem unattractive, somehow — because of the way they think or act.

Science and Health says: “Comeliness and grace are independent of matter. Being possesses its qualities before they are perceived humanly. Beauty is a thing of life, which dwells forever in the eternal Mind and reflects the charms of His goodness in expression, form, outline, and color” (p. 247 ).

When people feel comfortable with themselves — with who they really are as God's reflection — they express harmony. Because harmony is a spiritual quality they naturally get from God. When others recognize harmony in someone, they see beauty in that individual. Beauty is spiritual — inside each of us. So feel happy that God made you the way He did!
