"Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts!"

"Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts!" (Science and Health, p. 45). I trust this contribution will be helpful to those longing for the understanding of Truth.

Early in my life I had such desire to know truth. I felt that whatever truth was, it must above all be provable, and I sensed it must have much to do with God and His Christ. Somewhat later, through my mother's recommendation, I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer for an employment and housing problem. I had expended much effort and time looking in vain for both a job and a place to live. In a very short time following my call to the practitioner, both appeared in the most appropriate way. This was sufficient evidence for me that I had found the truth.

I received a copy of Science and Health and read the first page of the Preface. Concluding that the book was probably a deep, complex work, I put it aside until some future time and began to walk away. But at that point an angel thought, almost like a voice, stopped me. It said: "Now, you have had proof that Christian Science has helped you when all other means have failed. Shouldn't you be fair and give the book a chance?" With that I began at once to read it from cover to cover.
