Love never leaves us

When someone betrays or excludes us, we may mistakenly feel that God Himself has forsaken us. But this can never be so. God is infinite Love—constant, changeless. The Bible calls God "the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17.

Broad experience in Christian living shows that it is the inexorable nature of divine Love to be Love; and it is the ultimate hope of humankind to yield to Love—to feel its all-encompassing presence, to express its all-pervading mercy. Perfidy and rejection may seem able to shut out divine Love. But instead, Love is able to rule hurt and heartbreak out of human consciousness. An uplifting hymn assures us:
