Unchanging, infinite, always available

Love Is for Everyone

The only love we can really depend on is divine Love. Most people are looking, however, for personal, human love, because this is the only love they know. But even if one has this love showered on him by friends and relatives, a personal sense of love can be undependable. It can fluctuate.

In Christian Science, Love is one of the synonyms for God, as is Principle. In the Bible we are assured that "God is love." I John 4:8; The Love which is God is unchanging, infinite, always available. It is divine Principle.

When we say that God is Love, what do we really mean? In the twenty-third Psalm God is likened to a shepherd tenderly caring for his flock, guiding, protecting, feeding, and preserving it. As we gain this sense of God's love for us and the understanding that Love is Principle, therefore unchanging and ever present, we come to realize more our inseparable unity with Love and see that as the likeness of Love we must express it—that our reason for being is to be a witness to Love.
