"Choose life"

Solutions that seem to be very elusive when sought through material means become clear and precise when one's thought becomes attuned to God. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy opens with this comforting statement: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."^{Science and Health, Pref., p. vii;}

But a tremendous change is needed in mankind's approach to the problems besetting them. Their great need is spiritual understanding, turning away from thought based on the quicksand of matter to thought held securely in the almightiness of God. Mrs. Eddy writes, "As material knowledge diminishes and spiritual understanding increases, real objects will be apprehended mentally instead of materially."^{p. 96;}

In Christian Science we learn that God, or good, is Life, filling infinity with health, strength, and energy. He is all-encompassing Love, all-apprehending Mind, in which is found endless wisdom and understanding. God's boundless nature and power cannot be explained in material terms or ways. It is impossible to glimpse His omnipotence when thought is glued to materiality. Each individual must free his consciousness from belief in material laws and limits in order to accept such an infinite concept of Deity.
