For several years I read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy rather sketchily, and often attended services in a Church of Christ, Scientist, but not until I was in need of a physical healing did I turn wholeheartedly to the study of Christian Science.

I had been told by the family physician that I had a kidney condition and it was essential that I be given treatment for it. I consented to go to the hospital. Two treatments were given, but they were so extremely painful that when the doctor told me that he could give me no encouragement as to the length of time it would require to correct the condition I refused to continue the treatment.

I realized that I must do something in my own behalf and my thoughts then turned to Christian Science. One morning soon after, I stopped off on my way to business to call at the office of a Christian Science practitioner. I shall never forget the compassion expressed by this individual. Never was I more aware of God's presence, and I knew when I left her office that I had been healed.
