To Change or Not to Change

Many are faced with the necessity of making a change. It may involve locating in another city, accepting a new position, or engaging in a different business or profession. And some are giving consideration to replacing reliance on drugs and material means with trust in God and spiritual means for healing.

The question may arise, "After praying, how can I know whether it is right to change or not to change?" It is not right if one is still selfishly outlining or unduly anxious. He is in no mental position to make a wise, unbiased decision. Nor is he sufficiently balanced to assume new duties if he has been brooding over and is still rankling with a sense of injustice. He is apt to take those negative, disturbing qualities with him.

When, as a result of prayer, one finds his motives unselfed, his anxiety stilled, and his thought at peace, he can safely follow the leading revealed. Thus we learn how rightly to make a change. Moreover, praying along the above lines enables us to understand more fully that God is unerring Mind and that God's man reflects His infallible intelligence.
