Patty Demonstrates Beauty and Harmony

[Of special interest to juniors]

Patty thought the styles for juniors being displayed in the dress shop windows were very lovely, but nothing ready-made had ever looked as lovely on her as did the beautiful things her mother made for her.

But this year Mother was busy with other things, and most of Patty's winter clothes would have to be bought. Her mother had promised to go shopping with her before school started. But she remembered the weary hours they had often spent searching for the right thing which they never seemed to find at the right price, so she was putting the shopping off as long as possible. Because of these things Patty worried.

It was at this time that Patty's class in a Christian Science Sunday School began working for a better understanding of the attributes of God as Soul, such as joy, inspiration, goodness, beauty, harmony, gratitude, confidence, and faith. As Patty pondered these lovely qualities of thought, she realized that she could never expect to find the right clothes as long as she was entertaining thoughts of fear, worry, and doubt. So she decided to replace all negative thoughts with positive thoughts.
