The Reward of Persistence in Truth

As we consider the lives of those who have achieved genuine success in human endeavors, we find that persistent effort has played an important part. It can even be said that through this quality they have frequently brought out better results than others who are of a seemingly higher degree of inherent ability but whose efforts have been more or less spasmodic. If persistence is a fundamental quality in human achievement, how much more important it is in spiritual endeavor.

Worshipers of the one God have always sought to invoke His power in caring for human needs. With the coming of the Christian era they were aided by practical proofs of Christ Jesus' understanding of man's sonship with the Father. Today Christian Science, the promised Comforter, is teaching the full truth of God and His government and enabling today's worshipers to apply His law with scientific certainty.

The truths of perfect God and perfect man are ever present and indestructible. The real man does not need to seek after and cultivate them, but human consciousness, a seeming mixture of reality and the dream sense, must make the persistent effort to attain the understanding of the specific truths which meet specific human needs. As Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32;
