God's Ever-presence Is Our True Shelter

"Knowing ourselves as ... man, we find our true shelter"

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. ... For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways" (Ps. 91:1, 2, 11). These words show that David was conscious of a safe abiding place and of a true shelter in every need. This shelter is with us also today, but we must have spiritual understanding to enter in and realize that "in [God] we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
