I should like to share a healing...

I should like to share a healing that took place shortly after I began the study of Christian Science. I was working as a machine operator in a company that makes blueprints. The scrap paper that was trimmed off was allowed to pile up on the floor. One day as I was going from one room to another I stumbled over some of this paper and fell face down on the concrete floor. I seemed to be stunned for a moment, but the first thing that came to my mind was that God is my Life. When I was helped to my feet, my nose was bleeding heavily; so I thought it had been broken.

The owner wanted to call a company doctor, but I told him I wished to rely entirely on Christian Science treatment. I called a practitioner, who began to help me, and took a copy of the, Sentinel to a rest room and began to read. When the bleeding did not stop and others began to be fearful, I called the practitioner again; this time she told me to stop holding resentment for having fallen.

I immediately saw that this was just what I was doing. So I cleared my thinking and began to read an article which told of Jesus' healing work. The bleeding stopped, and I went back to work completely free. I was so grateful for this healing proof of God's infinite care.

Another wonderful proof of His care occurred when I was very much in need of an apartment. Unable to find a suitable one, I asked a practitioner for help, as I had become weary and discouraged. She told me to gain an understanding of the true nature of home as spiritual.

A passage that helped me greatly was Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Miscellaneous Writings," which reads (p. 152 ), "Into His haven of Soul there enters no element of earth to cast out angels, to silence the right intuition which guides you safely home." I accepted this truth, and that evening I put an advertisement in The Christian Science Monitor.

Soon after the advertisement appeared, I received a call telling me of an apartment. The first time I entered the apartment, I knew that it was an answer to prayer. All the furniture I needed, as well as little extra things, was there; this proved to me that, as the Psalmist said (Ps. 138:8 ), "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me."

Words can never express my gratitude to God for all the blessings that have come through my study and application of Christian Science. I give thanks for the experience of class instruction and for the inspiration gained each year at our association meeting. —(Mrs.) Mabel Johnson, St. Louis, Missouri.
