EVIL HAS NO YESTERDAY

Echoing the words of the author of the epistle to the Hebrews, Mary Baker Eddy writes (Unity of Good, p. 61), "God is 'the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever.'" Christian Science teaches and demonstrates with unerring certainty that since "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Gen. 1:31) life, health, and harmony, all of which are included in heaven, are the eternal facts of being.

If we wish these facts to be made manifest in our own lives, we must claim them to be true, even in the face of the evidence of the five personal senses, which cannot tell us anything of God, Truth. We must not only claim them as present realities and look forward to their being manifested in unfolding degree in the future, but we must also remember that they have been equally true from all eternity.

We may be acknowledging the kingdom of heaven to be the fact for the present and the future, but we may be tempted, quite unconsciously, to think of ourselves as growing out of a dark, material past up into the light of spiritual truth. Yet our yesterday has actually been as harmonious and God-filled as are our true today and our forever.
