LET US TAKE OVER

On one of her first calls a young Christian Science practitioner was sitting in the chair to which she had been shown upon entering the dimly lighted room. She was aware of the presence of a little group at the bedside in the far corner of the room, and she modestly waited for them to withdraw. Meantime with a sense of awe and gratitude she went over the steps she had taken to become a Christian Science practitioner, to be ready to be called at any time, night or day, on the holiest of missions—to minister, as did Jesus and his disciples, to the sick and sorrowing and to give them comfort, peace, and healing.

When Christian Science was first brought to her attention, the writer found that its truths flooded her consciousness and filled her heart. She recognized it immediately as a religion of Love and concluded that it would answer every question, satisfy every need. Oddly enough, at first she did not become aware of the healing which accompanies Christian Science.

When the writer learned of this, it did not surprise her in the least. It only added to her joy. She declared to herself, "Then I want to be a Christian Science practitioner." And this ideal was never for a moment set aside for anything else, though it took years of self-discipline and study of Christian Science to attain her heart's desire.
