DON'T YOU REMEMBER?

Some years ago a young lad was stricken ill, and his grandmother, with whom he lived, told him she thought that she should call a doctor at once. The boy, who had been going to a Christian Science Sunday School for some time, replied. "Please don't; I want you to ask a Christian Science practitioner to help me."

This was Monday morning, and although the practitioner who was called prayed earnestly, the boy seemed to grow worse. On Wednesday morning the grandmother said she thought that she would call the doctor who had been taking care of other school children, and again the lad asked her not to, saying he knew that Christian Science could heal him. And then, as though surprised that she could doubt the power of God, he added: "Don't you remember how Christian Science healed you two different times? Well, it will heal me, too."

The grandmother took the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and went to her room and began to read. She recalled the two wonderful healings she had had and again thanked God for them. The first healing was of stomach trouble, the result of an automobile accident. How real the condition had seemed until the comforting truths of Christian Science—God's angels—revealed her true self as the child of God and assured her of God's goodness and loving care. Gradually, as she had held to the facts of being, her fear of pain or soreness had left, and in a short time she had been restored to health. In the automobile accident her ankle had been broken, but when she realized the nature of God, Spirit, as perfect and of man, in His likeness, as spiritual and perfect, the lump disappeared from her ankle, and she had no more difficulty in walking.
