More than a few pat phrases needed to smash the lie and establish the fact

FOLLOWING THROUGH

A Christian Scientist should never give up, no matter what the battleground. He knows the necessity of taking his stand against the arguments of mortal belief and human conjecture, and of holding fast. With persistence he will gather courage and conviction. His God-given ability to follow through to success will gather momentum as he continues to claim his birthright as the perfect child of his Father-Mother God.

Do not let us agree with any argument of limitation, lack of time or ability, scarcity of supply or of friends, and thus becloud the proved fact of Christian Science that God's work concerning man is forever finished and complete. Our task is to establish these truths firmly in our thought, and then to stand fast.

Emphasizing the importance of sticking to the point until demonstration is assured, Mary Baker Eddy uses these words in "Science and Health with Key ti the Scriptures" (p. 492): "Discussing his campaign, General Grant said: 'I propose to fight it out on this line, if it takes all summer.' Science says: All is Mind and Mind's idea. You must fight it out on this line. Matter can afford you no aid."
