THRESHOLD OF YEAR

Pause now and stand on holy ground.
Like Moses share
The prelude flame, the pillared fire;
Let these bear witness, till the higher
Impartial Pentecost is found
Already there.

At point of New Year's forward sight,
Pause and prepare
To pierce each thwarting circumstance
With keen, adventurous advance
In that resourcefulness of light
Already there.
