I should like to tell how these...
I should like to tell how these words from Isaiah (65:24 ), "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear," were proved true in my experience. I had been paying my rent by the month, but when a source of income I had been depending on stopped, I found I was unable to pay except by the week, as I earned a rather small salary. The landlady would not accept the weekly payment and asked me to move. I worked in Christian Science to the best of my understanding, but grew more disturbed, and it seemed as if I could not go on. Then a friend, a student of Science, called. I told her I was in trouble, and a meeting was arranged. During our talk that evening I had a beautiful glimpse of peace, love, and harmony, which I had not known before. She told me she would work for me in Christian Science.
The next day a sum of money was offered me that covered my rent for the month; and before the month was up, a more desirable place was found, where I was told I could pay any way I wanted to. At first I had only one room, with use of the kitchen, but the woman went on a trip for several months, and I was given the use of the whole house. I am very grateful for the opportunity for hours of quiet study I had in this beautiful little home.
I am grateful for the overcoming of such false traits of character as selfishness, hatred, and the desire for revenge. My daughter was healed of an abdominal cramp for which the doctors could find no cause or name.
With the help of the same friend who aided me in demonstrating a better sense of home and my own diligent study and application of the truths learned from the Bible and from Science and Health and other writings by Mrs. Eddy, my husband and I were reunited after living apart for almost three years. This truth from the Bible (Rom. 8:38, 39 ), "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor thingsto come, nor height, not depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord," was kept constantly in thought and was made my own.
I am most grateful to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the practitioners who have been so ready and willing to work for me from time to time. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. Words can never express completely the gratitude I have for Christian Science and the fuller life it has opened for me.— (Mrs.) Lola Bryant, Eldon, Missouri.
