I have always felt it a great blessing...
I have always felt it a great blessing that my parents heard of Christian Science when I was a child and that I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. I was very quickly healed of eczema. After that there were many healings and proofs of the protecting and sustaining power of divine Love in our family.
Since my marriage I have had many opportunities of applying the truth and have found that when the rules of Christian Science have been faithfully adhered to, it has never failed.
When our two children were born, I had Christian Science treatment, and each time the birth was harmonious. Our son, however, was small and rather frail at first, but by our relying radically on Christian Science each difficulty which presented itself was overcome. Our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says in Science and Health (p. 162 ), "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies," and we have had overwhelming proof of this in his case, for he is now a strong and healthy boy.
The most outstanding proof we have had of the truth of this statement occurred in 1945, when our son was healed of streptococcal sore throat. Since then our little daughter has had two quick healings. The first was of mumps. She came to me one night with all the symptoms of mumps and feeling quite miserable. We declared the truth, and then I put her back to bed, but she did not sleep much. In the morning I telephoned a practitioner. In a very short time all pain had gone, and by the following day she was free. Shortly after this she complained of a painful and swollen finger, which kept her awake all night. I again telephoned for help, and the pain and swelling soon disappeared. The skin dried up quickly and in a few days came away like a shell.
For these healings I am unspeakably grateful, but I am even more grateful for a better understanding of God as divine Love and of man as made in His image and likeness. I am deeply grateful for our beloved Leader and for her unselfed service in presenting this Science to mankind; for the faithful practitioners, for class instruction, for church membership, for the literature, and for the many other blessings provided by the movement.—(Mrs.) Margaret Halliwell Lambert, Ashtead, Surrey, England.
