It is with a heart full of gratitude...

It is with a heart full of gratitude and a sincere desire to help someone, that I am led to write this testimony.

It is many years since I first heard of Christian Science and was led by a friend to test its healing efficacy. The difficulty from which I desired relief was a severe and stubborn form of nervous trouble. All that the doctors recommended I tried. A year of osteopathic treatment failed to bring me surcease. But when I appealed to Christian Science my healing came.

Since that first healing, I have had many proofs of God's nearness and care for His children. Some years ago I was stricken with arthritis so that I was rendered practically helpless. I was not able to use my hands, nor could I move without help. Relatives and friends who were not Christian Scientists believed I was bound by many material so-called laws, one of which was that I should never be able to walk again. My healing was slow, but after many months I was walking, and within a year and a half I was back at my work in the schoolroom. I have always been grateful that through this slow healing I learned many lessons which have helped me in working out other problems. One lesson was that of patience and persistence in Truth. When, day after day, there seemed to be little physical change, it required the utmost courage and patience to hold fast in spite of the material evidence. Each day that I held to the truth, limitations were overcome and harmony was manifested in an ever-increasing degree until Truth was triumphant. The qualities of thought unfolded through that experience have helped me many times since.

I am grateful that Christian Science has answered for me so many questions of theology which were puzzling. It has given me an understanding of God, whose nearness and protection I can prove. Christian Science has provided me with a rule by which to live, a foundation upon which to build, and a pattern from which to mold and fashion my life. My general outlook and my reason for the hope that is in me is entirely different since I began to study the Science that teaches us the truth about God and man.

I am grateful to the practitioners who have so faithfully helped me many times. I am grateful for the Christian Science literature, which brings us such wonderful help through the scientific and correct thinking of those who contribute to it. I am very grateful for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school for many years. Joyous work with little children is one of the greatest blessings which can come to one. My experience in the Sunday school was both joyous and gratifying, for I learned many lessons with the children. I am increasingly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her untiring and faithful work in giving us this wonderful Science of God and man.—(Miss) Ethel Roxana Hulett, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
